There was a 30 minute TV programme on James Ravillious on BBC TV last night (yeah who?), a guy who spent 20 odd years documenting farming life in the South West of the UK - B&W and Leica M3. Some great images. Hope you enjoy.
 
I saw that programme too - I can't understand why we haven't heard more about this guy's work, most of his images were superb
 
His father was also an amazing artist - James was overshadowed by his reputation for most of his life. I only heard of James a few years ago, mostly thanks to Trevor Hare over at pnet, back in the time when they'd have more than one new thread a day... if you search pnet archives, there are a lot fo threads devoted to him.
 
I had the chance to watch the program on BBC4 past week and got very surprised by the quality both of the artist and the documentary. Brilliant!!!
And... thanks for the link to the archive...
 
I tried to buy one of his books soon after he died. Out of print then, now asking price at Amazon is £140 used. His work is beautiful.
