Nice stuff, Wayne! I like that film a lot, but 'cause I've got the stuff to soup my own, I don't use it very much...

Especially like the backlit tall grass...

Regards!
Don

I like all six pics for various reasons, but my experience with the BW400cn is similar. No real strong blacks. The pictures looked washed out to me. Mayhaps it's viewing them on the net, but my prints seem similar. I seem to want to put them in photoshop and punch up the contrast.

I both 1 & 2 in the first post, maybe #1 a bit better.

I've found that with BW400CN I have to do some levels in post processing to get the blacks right. It may be related to the orange mask.

Thanks everyone. I wanted to share samples from a camera my dad purchased in 1950 or 1951. Konica was making good lenses way back then.

I purposely sought some tough situations with this camera and roll of film. Find out what it would do well and what it would do less well.

Backlit grass: The sun was directly above the grass and not very far out of the frame. I think the lens did well.

Sunflower: Todd I'm fond of that one too. I had fun "stalking" this flower. Backlit again but with clouds. Looking at the 2400x1600 scan the lens is plenty sharp.

Winnsboro Bakery. One of my favorite places in the neighborhood. I couldn't resist. Wide open.

The last picture is the obligatory point light sources out of focus. No donuts here.

If anyone is contemplating an early Konica rangefinder I say, "Go for it."

GEEEEEEEEEEEEEZzzzzzzzzzzzzeeeee, I did punch up the blacks. Maybe I need to punch some more? :D

Thanks Earl. #1 is a near duplicate of an Agfachrome slide I took in 1969 in Germany with my Canon IVS2 and Canon 50/1.8 lens. I have a thing for daisies. The Agfachrome is still my favorite picture.

By the way, this camera has never been near a repairman. I have no clue if the shutter speeds are anywhere near right. A friend has a tester & I'll check the shutter soon.

I'd love to see the Agfachrome. It also remains one of my favourite colour films ... tied with Kodachrome, in fact.

I need to dig out my slides from Germany. I would like to have Cibachromes made of the daisies and one or two others. If I can get a decent scan I'll send them.

Bump!

Bump!

I ran my Konica past a shutter tester thingie yesterday. Thanks RFF member wclavey! All speeds were quit slow. Now that I know what the shutter speeds are I hope to get better exposures in the future.

This is Agfa 50RS ... the colour has deteriorated and the slide needs cleaning, and the scanning/post isn't that great, but ... I always loved the Agfa palette, and the way it rendered blues was, in my eyes, very true and pure.

OK, OK! I'll dig out my 1 or 3 rolls of Agfachrome from 1969. I think there might be a roll of 6x6 in the Wayback Machine.
