M8 on cover of "Outside" Magazine's gift guide

Did you ever read Rangefinder (photo) magazine? Same deal with all the photog's profiled in it, and they profile about three photographer's each issue. You end up feeling like a looser when you read it.

Except that the current issue features a portrait photographer and all the sample images in his article are crappy at best.

I will be profiled in their upcoming Wedding Issue, I believe it's the one in March... I hope my images don't disappoint you guys.

Cheers,

Riccis

The people in all those magazines like that are always ulta cool, ultra good looking, ultra rich, ultra interesting etc. I stopped reading magazines like that. Too depressing.

You are right on the money with that observation. I once did a cover shoot for Outside for one of their Best Places To Live issues. The shot was a couple of kayakers on a lake with the Madison skyline in the background. The photo was rejected because one of the guys had facial hair (a beard). :bang:

I came home from work and in the hall I found an empty Leica box. Mystified, I set it aside and went into the bathromm (as one does). As I whiled away the minutes I discovered a lens on the shelf. After more wandering about our house I found the M8.

It was my birthday and my wife had had a totally mental moment, bless her.

.... and we're certainly not rich!

One is better to love that Woman for Life!

Or we all make turns to beat One up!

Today is my birthday. I left the house this morning and my wife had not remembered it. I have now talked to her twice on the phone and still she has not remembered. If I give you our phone number, would you mind having your wife call mine? ;)

You seem surprised? No one has a beard in a magazine like that. It's just not right.

'Rarely get to see so much working class ire at the rich.'

Film vs. digital, Leica vs. un-Leica, filter vs. no-filter, us vs. them.

It's all the same; different names for the same thing.

One day I will be able to afford an M8.

Until then I remain between two worlds.

I took my friend to Camden the other day. She nearly had a fit from being surrounded by so much human filth.

So the M8 is officially no longer a "camera;" it's a lifestyle trinket for a man-sized charm bracelet. No facial hair, though, that's gross! :D

Are you getting the feeling that the world is just for the rich. Who can buy an M8 as a gift?
Who can buy a Nikon D40 as a gift?

Seriously, I'd like one. With this wonderful economy, $599 is too rich for my blood.

Certainly a keeper.
