How to focus the lens nearer than 0.7m?

Sorry if I ask this question again.
I just bought a ZI with 25/2.8 and 35/2 lens. I find that when I use 25/2.8 lens I can't focus when the object is near between 0.5m-0.7m. I read the manu that the ZI only have 0.7-Inf rangefinder. Bow to focus object that nearer than 0.7m?

Hello, closer than 0.7 meter you have to guess the distance, or measure it.

I found that with my arm extended out in front of me, with my thumb pointing sidways, the distance from the camera to my thumb is about 0.5m. That's how I guess 0.5 meters anyway.

Does Leica work in this way too?

Except possibly some of the 21mm Super Angulons, I don't think Leica lenses focus below 0.7 meters.

Close focus is more appropriate for SLR cameras, as the accuracy of both focusing and framing decreases with rangefinders as you get closer.

Hi, friend I meet new problem in my new ZI. I don't know how to describe it but I hope you can understand me. At the infinity two double images should be completely overlapped but my ZI can't when I turn the lens to infinity. I tried one object 200m or more away.
Is it a serious problem?

Your ZI is probably fine, the RF is so precise, that it will show you perfectly aligned infinity reading only when you focus on the moon.

This is not actually a problem. It's been documented with most ZI's. It's just the way they are calibrated. If you take a shot (even on a lens wide open) it should be focused completely perfect.

So its just a visual thing, which wont actualy affect your shots. 🙂

Ok, then I am not worry about that. My Kiev4s are all completely aligned, so I expect ZI should be also. Thank you!
