Hello again Folks!

Here`s two quick samples from last weekend`s photoshot with my dear friend and pinup photo muse Emilia Maria together with an all original 1962 Austin Healey 3000 Mk2, shot in downtown Winter Haven, once again using the very late production 1956 Canon f1.5 50mm lens, but this time sittin on my 1945 "Kugellager" shutter non stamped Leica IIIC
*no matter what this lens is fitted on it always works out great - this IS my FAVORITE lens of everything I own*

That outfits pretty killer too.....a vintage original based on a Chanel Paris design ala Jacqueline Kennedy era 1962 *well ok the skirt was hemmed up 4 inches to make it a mini, whiile the remaining fabric will be used to make a pillbox hat!*

Film was Fujicolor 100ASA film set at 1000/sec and wide open with a hood.....about 4:30 in the late afternoon - photos are unretouched (but they have been slightly cropped) :D

We only had a few moments to shoot with the car as the owner was leaving right when we "found" this, but I hope that I can plan a future shoot with Emilia and this look/outfit again together with this really kool vintage sportscar

Enjoy!

Lovely lady. Would have preferred to see more of the AH 3000 though. I once owned an AH Sprite. I always lusted for a 3000 but just couldn't afford one.

Is that Healy pink? Oh the Shanda! But those wire wheels to die for. BTW do we still need to smoke to look sexy? The other day I was talking to a new person in my office. We were physicaly just a few inches from each other. It had been a good while since I had smelled smoker's breath, I thought I would puke. But I am not a big anti smoking freak, but PU!

Sadly we had a 5 minute offering of the car, as the owner was leaving his store.......so we were time crunched, and most of the time the cars in my shoots are important and rare and wild vintage stuff, but the gals are always the center of attention, in saying this the Big Healey was just a prop :)

The guy who owns this one has a bright red with white hardtop 59' "Bugeye" as well, something I have to arrange for an artistic nude shoot soon.......

"Cigar, cigarette, cigarilla?"

I don't now how you would shoot 60's period stuff without a smoke in the hand, our current sensitivities notwithstanding.

Yes, people have to remember that in 1962 it was kool to smoke our culture then promoted it (remember even the Flintstone`s smoked Winston)
for 95% of the time in my photos it`s just a prop.......

and I gave up smoking after 15+ years of it and feel better for it :)

I always liked those Healey's including the earlier 100M's and S's, after the 3000's were dropped I was offered a mint 6.000 miles '68 MGC - same motor and running gear but with a different body shell.

My old man, who had owned a Healey, said if I ever bought one he'd remove my name from the family list. I still don't know if he was serious or not. :)

Cool lookin cars though...

Love the combination of the pink and black outfit with the pink and black paint job, which I believe really was an original factory color combo. And since the 3000 Mk II was in production from 1961 to 1963, and the similar-looking 3000 Mk III soldiered on until 1967, even the mini-length hemline can be defended as period-correct. I think the hat would be a fabulous addition -- hope you're able to include that when you do your follow-up shoot.

I'm sure that technically the 50/1.5 Canon isn't as good a performer as, say, its replacement the 50/1.4. But it's interesting how certain lenses just seem to work for individual photographers' shooting styles... just as the 3000 was an unwieldy truck at heart, but some drivers were able to drive the living whee out of it...

Tom: Great shots, but I would like to see more of the AH. My brother had one 40 years ago. I currently own a '51 MG-TD that needs restoring. Fun cars to drive. Lay the windshield down and put on your crash helmet. Thanks for sharing.

Stunning car. In my opinion the most beautiful car ever built. Too bad about the woman standing in front of it. Couldn't you have asked her to move?
