ya know, like it or not, the M-mount leicas are a classic design, even in digital clothing.
Other leicas designs are classic too- I saw a commerical on American cable TV for some product that I paid no attention to, until the very end when what looked to be a leica IIIg was used as a prop.
Now, I hate leicas more than the average bear, but a classic is a classic. Some leicas are just iconic.

I agree that Leica M's are lovely thing but I'm afraid I don't see the M8 as a very inspired design solution.
The brief was always going to be make the M8 look as much as possible like an M7, which they did. There's no real genius there.

I followed the link Brett provided and this is a part of the sentence beginning the third paragraph. I qouted just that but none of the rest of that sentence. Which was unfair of me but (I hoped) funnier. Apparently not.
