Hi guys. I'm wondering whether I can fix these streaks I've put on my negatives. See the streak at the top half of the frame when I was removing water?

You could re-touch it out on the prints if you are good, or with PS if you use digital. If the neg is just streaked, you could re-wash and probably get rid of it. If it's scratched, it's probably on the negative for good. There are some ways to hide light scratches on the base side, but I've never found anything that works really well on big serious scratches. You can rub a little grease from your nose carefully into small scratches on the base side only before you scan or print and this will hide them sometimes, but be sure to clean the neg carefully and thoroughly before you put it away. If it's a scratch on the emulsion, fixing it digitally or very carefully spotting your prints is your only hope. Never try to fix scratches in the emulsion- you'll just make it worse.
This is why it's a bad idea to squeegee film. Take it out of the photo-flo and just hang it up to dry.

Shooter of Film...
This may be a dumb question but I gotta ask...
Have you cleaned the neg with any type of Film Cleaner???
Does it look like it's scratched or dirty???
You can clean the emulsion side just be very careful...don't rub too hard...
I use Edwal Film Cleaner and my wife's good cotton pads...

Old style method was to add some carbon tetrachloryde over the scratches before enlarging... not that you want to use C-Cl4
I have used vaseline succesfully as well.

Ah yeah, carbon tet, used that in lab to do mass spec when I was in ochem last year. Maybe I could get my hands on some.
