Today I bought my first roll of Ilford XP2 super 400 (36er) film in a local shop. They want 5,10 € for it. Is that an average price?

What do you guys pay?

Wow, go for expired ones, they are cheap but just as useful as new ones (if you know how to use it). I never pay more than $2 per roll.

Well, we have two photo stuff shops at nearest. The first one does not sell Ilford (the guy at the counter even claimed there wouldn't be any Ilford films anymore:eek::rolleyes:) and the second sells them to the price stated above.

I think I will switch to either online ordering or look around in the city next time. :bang:

I'm just scanning in some XP1 from 1985 that I got developed today - but I think this is a little too bad for normal use :)

When I used XP2 I got it from 7dayshop.com - £2.09/£1.55 135/120

For Europe, that sounds fairly typical. As with all such things, we pay a good deal more than those in the US for the usual tax/market size/life-isn't-fair reasons.

I think at home in Luxembourg a typical 36 exposure roll is around €4-5 (I'm not talking about bargain bin colour films here, they can be cheaper). Here in the UK it seems to be commonplace to see film at an obscene £5 a roll. That's $10 to you Americans! I recommend mail order, for example:

There are many other sources, I just happened to order a pack of Foma from them a few days ago and their service was very efficient.

US$2.47 per 36 exp. roll. That is by buying a bulk roll for $46.95 from B&H in New York then getting 19 rolls from it.

I also buy most of my film from 7dayshop.com. There is no VAT for UK customers.

P&P is a bit heavy at £3.95 but i just make sure i buy 10 rolls or so at a time.

Much better than high street prices.

Ken.
