"Shown only in prototype form and behind glass Epson has fully revealed their new R-D2 Rangefinder Digital Camera. This camera now features a 12.1MP full frame (FX format) CMOS sensor with an iso sensitivity of 100 to 6400 and an output image size of 4256x2832 pixels that defines a new benchmark in rangefinder photography. Epson will face the competition with a superior product and a very competitive price"
Ok, this only exists in my imagination but wouldn't be great if something like that could actually see light?
Cheers!

Nice try. I don't think even Leica can come up with such a product yet.

Mail it to some responsible at Epson. Maybe it gets some attention there. And don't forget to inform us if they force you to sign a NDA...

"Deed"
This topic has been chewed through so many times here. Search for R-D2 and you'll find a lot. But no official statements of Epson wheher they give up the digital RF project or not. There are just no official facts about it. Only tons of estimations and rumours of forum and usergroup members.
Discussing gear wishlists is becoming truly boring for me. Ain't here enough good cameras on the market to make good pictures?
Said this, I'll go out for a fresh-air shooting walk (with the next best camera I can grab)...

I don't think my post is crap as GEO said.
I never meant to really hurt the feelings of anyone or making a joke. There are many posts here and everywhere else about the products we all want to have in the future so I don't see why I cannot do the same. The only difference was that I wanted to see how the camera would looks so I did a little photoshop work.
I am not going to type "I am sorry" first because I don't have to and second because I am not going to apologized for speaking my mind. On the contrary, as Michael just said maybe someone can listen to these opinions since I am not the only one wishing more and better tools to do our jobs.

If you don't like it, don't read it - it's a public forum, and people are allowed to post whatever the hell they want. I don't appreciate reading comments like that directed at a totally lighthearted post by someone. I for one still hold the hope that sometime a digital RF may have a full frame CMOS chip, made by a company that doesn't charge a mortage for a camera.

As long as you're fantasizing, why don't you fantasize a longer rangefinder base, e.g., off the Ikon?

Probaby quite a lot of people do what I do: 'preview' the post, and if it looks interesting, click onto it and read it.
And sorry, this is crap, and malicious, stupid crap at that. It wasted my time and the time of lots of other people. It's not 'totally lighthearted' to steal time from people's lives, any more than it is 'totally lighthearted' to stick pins in them and laugh when they jump.
Cheers,

rokkorfiles.com has a very similar page about a fictional digicam body that takes old Rokkor (and MD) glass. The website owner did it as an April Fools joke. I spent some time trying to figure out where I could buy one, haha.
