anyone using PC-TEA developer?

Is anyone using Gainer's PC-TEA forumula for developing 400 speed films?

Which recipe are you using?

10g ascorbic acid (or 9g)
0.2g Phenodine (or .225g , or .25g)
100ml TEA

Any comments, recommendations or warnings? I'm looking for simple, concentrated liquid devloper, with long shelf life, and performace similar to Xtol (without the unexpected failure).

Well, one thing to consider is that the "sudden death" issue with XTOL has been basically eliminated with the use of smaller bottles for storage. It is abnormaly sensitive to oxidation, but otherwise it's a safe developer. And other than FX39, it's the only other ascorbic acid quasi-phenidone developer out there, which is the latest formulation around.
