Give us a sample picture from your Yashica

This shot from my recently acquired expired film. This film was the Konica VX400 that was 2 years past it's "use by" date.

I also used my Yashica Electro 35 GTN Rangefinder with this roll of film!

wow... I like this!

wow... I like this!

I like the whole notion of the photo, especially the fuzzy cacti and the fuzzy people juxtaposed. Well seen.

Tried to make eye contact with counter girl. My note says it's shot wide open, I wonder if it's true. Prefocused on different direction about same distance, then turned back, girl looked to my side and I snapped. Yeah, that's Lynx 5000.

Totally digging my new old camera. Bought on eBay, repaired, calibrated, and cleaned. Works like a champ. Loving the pictures coming back from this thing... even these with Walgreens 800.

Now that I've tested the camera, I'll use it a bit more seriously.

from a GSN. this might be my new low-light camera, replacing my hi matic e. I really like the bokeh, very smooth. Pictures like this are why I like film. Digital is just TOO sharp sometimes.

I stumbled upon this old camera store in a rough part of town while looking for a canonet. As I was looking through the inventory, my gaze fixed on this beautifully solid camera. The owner was selling it for roughly $60 in mint condition and with the telephoto and wide-angle lens plus viewfinder.

Here is a set from my first ever roll

Three old ones from my long sold Electro 35GTN. All shot wide open on Ilford XP1, scanned from the negative.

Petronius, I've looked at the three images you put up. I've a set of Yashica RF's and love them. Never will sell because I'd only want to buy them again. ;D

After looking at the images you've posted I'm surprised at the detail on the parquet flooring in the first one. It's excellent. Seeing results like these makes me ask ... "why did you sell your Yashica?"

Hah, I was gonna ask Jan's question too. :) Proof, though, that which camera isn't really as important as the person using it is easily found on Petronius' blog -- a HUGE assortment of cameras and excellent, evocative, images from nearly every one!

They are just really sharp lenses on those Yashicas. And great exposure metering too on the GS/GSN/GT -- maybe because of the stepless shutter?

Well, I'm down to 2 rolls of Ilford XP2, both in cameras. Last roll I bought in town was $9.99 for 24 exp!!! Awwwkk! Hope the Kodak will be a good replacement. I had stopped using it in the past but don't recall why. Since I scan for myself, applying little or no pp sharpening, I'm guessing it will be okay. The clue that made me suspect excess sharpening wasn't halos (easy to avoid) but the loss of the middle tones when highlights should blend in smoothly to middle-dark. The photo itself, is fine, though! No criticism intended.
