I kinda like the "noise" here. I had a slow lens so it was either 3200iso or use the flash.
Post your DSLR pictures with a lot of "noise" that you think work.

My advice if you want some real evil noise:
Get a Zeiss Ikon Contarex "Bullseye", made in 1962
or
Get a Pentax 67
Press the button and say "kerfuffle ". If someone hears what you say it was the wrong button...

The only time when I have problem with noise when using high ISO (1600) on my DSLR is when I forget to take it out of evaluative metering. In situations where there's not much light, evaluative tends to expose for the highlights. The result is severe underexposure of shadow areas, and that's when noise gets ugly. But when I use ISO1600, white balance correctly and spot meter away from the highlights, the result isn't all that bad..

Well, not exactly a DSLR but I think the noise here really adds to the atmosphere of the image.
This was taken with my little Pentax Optio WP digicam at high ISO with no flash, and partially desaturated in Photoshop.

To be fair that pic was taken in black and white mode which reduces the chroma noise. Here's a color shot. I think reducing for the web also diminishes the noise.

It can get a bit messy.
a D100 at 6400 falls apart a bit. But they ran the image anyway. *shrug*

Nikon has come a long way since the D100. Both of mine were done with the D80. My handy dandy little D40 (bought for its small size) is even better at high iso.

Agreed - tho it didn't help that i underexposed and had to "save" the exposures from this as much as I could in PS.
Doesn't show off the camera much if I don't do my part and get the bloody exposures right.

A spectacle theater troupe doing a lantern procession. Of course, they had the park kill all the other lights - much to the consternation of those of us covering the event.
