hi!
i've got following offer, it's a m6 with only the M6 engraved (no leica), chrome, classic, 0.72, looks very good optically, has a little brassing on the top cover, otherwise quite well cosmetically, everything seems to work out very good
so is it worth 1200 usd (780euro) ? the cheapest around here ive seen was 750 euro, about 1150 usd...
since my r2a seems to be lost in the mail, i'll just take this as a sign and look around for a m6?
another question, does anyone use the 40mm cv nokton with the m6? it brings up the 50mm lines so i read, is it possible to modify it to bring up the 35mm lines as it's much closer? if so, how would i do that?
thanks for any input!
regards, "m6-soon?"-xax

Yup. That is in my opinion the prettiest M there is (I know most would say M2/M3, but...). As for the 40mm Nokton, I would presume the mount could be modified to bring up the 35mm lines in the same way as the 40mm Summicron:

thanks so far!
one small question, does this look normal? it seems very scratched to me?
or did just a lot of film go through that camera

Well, mine looks like that as well. Don't know if it is supposed to, but it works anyway.

Is it a TTL model? I got a black M6TTL with a .82x viewfinder off of ebay in just about perfect shape for 1500 USD last May. It seems like a reasonable price. As far as the wear on the inside of the camera is normal. Send more film through and that's what happens.

nah. since it's only with the M6 engraving, my research has shown that it has to be an early production model, which makes it a non TTL... which does not bother me since i won't need TTL anyways...
thanks for all the answers so far!

That pressure plate looks to be in perfect condition - that is the brushed finish of the steel plate - not film wear.
If the rest of the camera is in as good of condition, it sounds like a good deal.

thank you guys for the very comprehensive and exact answers!
i've never encountered a forum where i got helped so well without getting a cynical remark! no wonder someone from the other half of the world trusts this forum to buy a m6 for him

This place is the best when it comes to dealing with others. Its a lot more civil then some of the other places around. And if I can get my hands on that m6, or m7, I will have this place to thank!

i did it.
it seems to be a 1988 m6 chrome in absolute pristine condition.
hope it was quite a deal
and now i even hope that the r2a is lost in the mail so i can get the insurance. haha. what irony.
