I've just "won" one of these cameras on Ebay. I wanted one after I saw the picture of Charles Eugene Sumners posted above. Looking forward to try it out when I get it.
Sumners was part of the 166th Signal Photo Company during WW2 and wrote the book "Darkness Visible" from his experiences.

Interesting - I have to say, I was not able to figure out who that was. I was trying to identify the signet ring - finally gave up. I thought it might be a signet ring from a military unit and my first thought was that he was signal corps in WWII. But the ring matched no such units that I could find.
You'll have to post some photos from the camera!

The ring does remind me of a Class Ring. I can't exactly make out what's on it. It looks a bit like a flashholder.
This is the one they're shipping to me today (if I'm lucky)
And I'm probably going to invest in Sumners' book in the near future.
The Living History event season is starting in April. Should give me ample opportunity to try out the Super Dollina.

Recieved the camera last weekend.
First impressions: Solid, but not quite as heavy as the Kodak Retina II I have. The rangefinder split-image mirror isn't in great condition but still usable. I will have to take the top off it to clean the inside of the viewfinder and rangefinder windows.
Shutter sounds pretty crisp and appears to work well.
Lens is nice and clean.
The case is stamped 27028, so it was probably produced shortly after the introduction of the Super Dollina (which started at around 25000) so probably 1938/39-ish. The Lens serial number points at 1937.
I'm quite pleased! I have loaded it with an expired roll of Fuji Superia 400 and I will be taking it with me to the Open Museum Weekend at the Engineer Museum in Vught (NL). I'll be teaching basic photography with vintage cameras to a small group on Sunday.
Regards
