Okay. So I am currently afflicted with having awesome lenses and no rear caps. It's a problem. I bought some "screwmount" rear caps off a seller on eBay and they did not fit my Summitar.
I am wondering, can anyone point me to the right accessories and their whereabouts (generic is a-ok) please and thank you, for my:
Summitar
Canon FL 55/1.2 - it's been modified to M-mount
Canon RF 35/2 - I saw a front/rear cap set once for $14, didn't buy it and haven't seen anything that I know will work, since.
Thank you lovely dames and gents.

The Canon 35/2 takes standard 39mm LTM rear cap, and any generic clip on front cap in 40mm size, with a 42mm cap in the push-on style.

Right. Do you know of any reputable seller on eBay I can buy rear caps from?
My problem is I already bought some and they didn't fit.

For a quick and dirty LTM rear cap, cut the bottom off a film canister. You get a neat cap that's a tight fit.

Tyr Heavystar and American Eagle eBay seller, I have boought several caps, hoods and accesories from both, and believe both to be reliable.

killer of threads
I can second the recommendation for Heavystar--low prices and hassle-free shipping.

That's true. I've always bought no problem from Heavystar and American Eagle has good low price stuff as well.
Canon 35/2 takes standard 39mm LTM rear cap -- is that true, even with the LTM adapter on?
Matthew - I have no idea how that works. Film canisters (at least the ones I have) are smaller than the thread. Care to show a picture?
And about the getting a rear cap for the Canon FL 55/1.2. If i weren't at work I would post a picture, because it is tricky since the rear end of the lens has been midified. I think I'd need a deep rear bayonet cap for this? 17mm/21mm deep... Anyone, thoughts on this ?

Argh, sorry, I should have been clearer - I wasn't thinking entirely straight.
The film canister thing will work for your Summitar because the canister's internal diameter is about the same size as the rear barrel of the lens which sticks out when the lens is collapsed. This also applies to other collapsable LTM lenses like the Summar. For your rigid LTMs you'll have to look elsewhere for caps, though who knows what other odds and ends could be adapted.
Does that make more sense?

Ah, didn't realize that you had an adapter on the Canon 35/2- you will need an M-mount rear cap. Cameraquest sells some nice ones, and Steve Gandy is a reliable guy to do business with.

Yes, Matthew that makes complete sense! I just tried it out real quick at work. It was a little loose, but I'll fix that, thanks!

And apart from Matthew's neat little canister trick, if I wanted a true rear cap for the Summitar (which also has an LTM adapter fitted on it) an M-mount rear cap will fit it fine as well?
Thanks everyone for clearing it up for me. The crappy fakes I bought off eBay will serve as ash trays or something.

You're welcome.
