bessa problems

maybe we could speak here about some problems we have with bessa; it could be easy that way to find solutions....

I begin : I just bough a used (but mint) bessa R2 wich I like very much, but when I press the shutter, it often don't fire..
I can't remember where I saw that but it seems that other users have this problem...
so do somebody knows where the problem comes from?
do one have a solution?

I had this problem on a new Bessa R2C. If I used a cable release, the shutter would fire every time. On and off if I pressed the button and finally the button stopped working altogether. I put a thumbtack into the cable release socket and used it for a while before sending it back for warranty repair. I was told that a gear had slipped inside.
Have put about 60 rolls through the camera since the repair without any trouble.

....But it "repaired itself" after I changed the film. Good reminder to look it up anyway!

It seems that my Bessa R has some problem with the film transport mechanism or however one would call that... shot only 1 roll through it up until now, but had 3 (or rather 6) ruined pictures cause of overlapping frames... like here:

Is there some simple solution to that problem, so that I could maybe solve it myself? I don't really want to get it serviced, but did anyone of you experience that, too, and knows how much repair would cost, if nothing else is going to help?

I've only seen that when I get to the end of a roll and can't finish the final winding. I've never seen it anywhere but on the 25th or 37th frame, so to speak. I bought the camera used in 05, and it's probably had 50 or 60 rolls put through it since then. Wish I could be more helpful.

I have had an issue with the shutter on my R3A, where sometimes when I am winding on the the next frame, the shutter fires all by itself. Another guy has posted the same issue here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50AfjZcqA4k

Also, I have found that when using fast film on AE, the shutter indication in the viewfinder states 30 or 60, but when I press the shutter button the shutter stays open for 1 or 2 seconds!

I am not sure what is going on here - I am starting to worry about the build of this camera - it's only had 10 - 15 rolls of film through it so far!

Anyone else had a similar problem?

My only problem so far was the eyepiece vanishing. Got a new Nikon one today. Screwed it on really tight.

So far no problems with my R, but again someone said I was a hippie, home schooler. I am neither, but I do advance very slowly. I had an overlap problem with my Olympus 35RC, but that again was advancing too aggressively. I recommend fixing it and then take it easy. Maybe like a hippie, home schooler.

I have just purchased a second hand Bessa R. The shutter won't close at 1/60sec, on all other speeds it's fine! The only way to free the shutter is to turn the speed dial to 1/500sec. Very strange...someone has an idea?
