About a month ago, I shot a roll of B/W 120 film. But, I am having difficulty getting it developed in India. There is no one who processes this type of film anymore as all of them have moved on to either digital processing or automated processing of 35mm film.

I also tried to get the chemicals but I have not found anyone who can provide them. I don't know much about film development.

If I get the negatives out of the roll, I can get it printed or scanned.

Can someone suggest what my options are?

Thank you,

Hi Manoj,

Best to do it yourself as mentioned by M. Valdemar. You just need a dark-bag, a tank/spool and chemicals. Then scan the negatives.

I get chemicals from:

http://www.firstcall-photographic.co.uk/index.php

They are based in UK but do post packages abroad (recently someone I know on flickR emailed them from Turkey and they were happy to send chemicals there). A bottle of Rodinal will last ages; also get Stop solution and a Fixer and you are set.

If you are in Delhi, you can either get chemicals from Madanjee, or have the film done at SV Photographics:

I am closer to Mumbai. But I will contact the labs in Delhi to see if I can mail the roll to them.

Thanks for all the info.

I am in Delhi and used to have my work done at Mahatta and Company. Haven't used 120 for quite a while, though. The phone number is 011-41517220.

In the 1980s I went to a professional lab in Bombay/Mumbai, near the Gateway of India, owned by a photographer named Bedi.
