IR in a Kiev II or 4a

I just came into possession of several rolls of frozen Kodak IR B&W film and was wondering if the Kiev II and 4a will handle this film without fogging etc..

It's good to see Russ's bits 😉 but I would have presumed that anyway. That would be one real advantage to the type of back used by the Contax/Kiev cameras.

Pity I don't have any film to try it out... If you have the lenses, could you see how coated vs uncoated lenses deal with IR film? I love shooting old uncoated lenses so... 😉

It should work fine. There's metal all around and no LED film counter or anything.

Focusing wide open may be a bit inaccurate because the lenses don't have an IR focusing index (and with the 50 lenses the index would have to be on the body!).

I have a uncoated 35mm f/2.8 Zeiss Biogon I'll have to try out with IR..

This has inspired me to try some IR out in one of my FSU RF's, ive tried in slrs and found removing the filter to focus/compose very tedious.

IR was just made for RF's. Make sure you use a wide lens to get as much of the sky in as possible for maximum effect. Besides, if you use a wide lens focusing is not critical.
