Dear Folks,

does anyone have some picture taken with a CV 12mm Heliar lens to share? I would particularly appreciate pictures of architecture to judge the distorsion it produces on straight lines. Of course, I also appreciate any comment from people who own the lens!

Tnx!

The 12mm f5.6 is a stunning lens. It is, however, a lens that takes some time to get used to. Image quality is astounding and for something that gives you 127 degree diagonal image, it is surprisingly rectilinear. I dont use mine on tripod and with a level (I know I should) so any "falling" images are due to my inability to hold it straight.
If you get one, you will find yourself shooting a lot, just to get the hang of it. The medical term is "wideitis" I think!

This is one wide lens! Such high quality, too.

For this shot, I was standing on the sideway right in front of these houses, but it looks as if I'm across the street:

This thread inspired me to take my (recently) neglected 15mm Heliar for a walk. We had a great time!~

OK.

Couldn't resist this one...

I sold mine because it was so extreme, but as you can see, when it gets it right, Wow!

Here is a shot with the 12. I am more of a 50mm guy, so this lens is quite extreme for me and takes some getting used to.

Oops. My JPG was not compressed enough. Take my word for it?
