UK Region North Of England RFF Meet 2008?

Is it possible to consider another date so that Kully can make it? I'm just as free the next weekend, the 9th, myself. How about a poll with 2 or 3 dates and simple yes/no options? Then go with the one that gets the most yes votes?

Fair point Oscroft.

I'm not sure I can add a poll to an existing thread, but the dates that work for me are July 12th, Aug 2nd & Aug 16th.

I tend to lean towards sticking with the original date of Aug 2nd. My experience from last year's meeting was that moving the date around created as many problems for people as it solved.

OK, fair enough - probably best to go with your experience. (I couldn't make Jul 12th, and there's almost certainly going to be someone who can't make Aug 16th).

Hi guys,
Jem Kime here from Real Camera in Manchester.

Yup, I'm more than happy to be visited by you guys anytime and will look forward to 2nd August.
Yes, it's one year since the new shop opened and you can see how its settled down now that the space has been filled.
Wine and nibbles for sure, free Leica Society magazines as an incentive to become a member.
If you have any requests, let me know. jem.kime@ntlworld.com
The exhibition should be of North Norfolk landscapes by The Attic Gallery (Hunstanton).
If you're looking for an exhibition then bring a small portfolio of 12 photos on a single theme.

Looking forward to seeing you,
Jem

Nice to have you on the forum Jem. Thanks for posting :)

Well guys I think that's an offer we can't refuse.
I recall, after visiting Jem in his smaller shop last year, one member commented to me "...that's possibly the best camera shop in the world!"

So how's about a show of hands who can make it on August 2nd?

Start saving up your spending money and anything you might want to part-ex, I challenge anyone not to suffer GAS at The Real Camera Co.

In the meantime I'll start sorting out some potential shooting locations and perhaps a slightly more structured itinery than last year. All suggestions welcome.

Bob.

Shame, I've got a wedding to go to on August 2nd otherwise I'd be mighty tempted. I don't need much of an excuse to go back down to Manchester. Mind you, visits to Jem's temple of temptation tend to end badly for my bank account ;)

Sadly I can't make the 2nd :(

If I was coming, I would have been using a Yashica GTN, or Konica S2 (If I ever find a screw for the winder), keeping the kit bag light :)

Update...

Update...

Got a few people from another forum who have said they want to come too.

Some of you may know them. ;)

Aug 2nd..? Ack... I'll not be in the north then. My current plans are to move down south, to be with my other half.

Vincent

Vincent - you tease!
Was that with the 12mm super-wide you were trying out?

BTW: They've moved into a bigger space now so it's even better.:)

Dave: That's real shame. I was hoping you'd be able to make it.
Perhaps see you at a southern meet then?

I'll be there at a southern meet, oh yes. Rangefinder users seem to be more gregarious than digital users.

I've not forgotten I still have to show you how to load an L-series (no longer just the Standard... ;) ) whilst being on the move.
About 10 months ago, I'd have shown you how to do that one-handed as well. ;)
