I just rediscovered the Polaroid camera. I bought a cheap photo pack Polaroid camera off eBay. It has a rangefinder focusing mechanism + bright line finder. It works really well, and I only ruined one pack of film trying to remember how to load the darn thing. This photo of Spot the Dog is taken on Polaroid B&W asa3000 film. Looks really good scanned at high res and printed to 8 1/2 x 11.
It's film and it's instant! Try that with your dSLR. 😀

I envy you.

I do have a Polaroid 600 SE, the "Mamy" with a fixed lens. Once upon a time there was a guy somewhere in the internet selling backs for them, which you could choose in different formats.

Polaroid BW film in Israel ? There are better chances for a true peace.

i use a Polaroid 195 land camera quite a bit, prefer Fuji FP3000B B&W film, though I been fortunate enough to buy out dated but still useable Polaroid pack film (679, 665 - can't wait to use it when our child finally arrives)...

Does B&H ship to Israel? That's where I got mine. If not, perhaps one of their staff can just hand carry it to you on their next trip to Israel. 😎

Great picture Tuolumne. And monochromejrnl, yours are wonderfully sharp.

If you can call a Speed Graphic (127mm Ektar) with a Polaroid 405 back a Polaroid Rangefinder then yes. I've only shot Fuji FP100b so far though. I bought 12 film packs through Ebay for a good price.

I have a Polaroid 160, in pristeen condition. My son-inlaw rescued it from a friend's "garbage can" and it came with a manual & the original box.

It is identical to one I used at work, in a QA lab back in the 1970's. I even had the machine shop make me a special adaptor to take photos through a low power microscope.

Unfortunately, Polaroid stopped making type 42 & 47 films for it, at least 15 years ago.

Now it's a nice "Shelf Queen" in my home office / den. If anyone has a freezer full of this style of film, I would be open to a deal.

I've got quite a few of them; a couple 110As, a 900, and an 800 - all obsolete with regard to available film. Great for lens- and camera-hacking, though; like many others, I have devious plans for making 4x5 handhelds from the 110s.

I was shooting with a 250 for a while, and I absolutely love it. Fantastic Zeiss rangefinder unit on this one. I'm looking for a new one, though, since mine has developed "bellows sag"; the inner bellows material has separated from the outer cover, and is intruding into the light path. Probably cheaper to buy another than to fix.

Still, I'll be shooting it until all film disappears, which will hopefully be some time in teh distant future.

Christ, this thread has got my PolaGAS firing up again. I've got a folding Land somewhere, I think that it is a 320. In awful condition, but I may just try to get her up and running when i get back to the UK.

one of them (the 350) has a short or something that causes the shutter battery to go dead really quickly and the other (a 420) has only one battery and works just fine

I have two:

NPC 195 -- a re-creation of the 195 but taking modern films. Made by the same people who do/did the Forscher-patented Polaroid backs.

600SE with 75 + 127 lenses, and back adapter to let me use Mamiya 6x7 and 6x9 rollfilm backs.

Both very nice cameras indeed.

I've recently been infected by the instant film bug as well and reading about your NPC 195 reminded me of this review of the Fuji FP-1.

Toward the end of the article it talks about the Polaroid Japan 185 & the NPC 195. I would love to get my hands on one of these. If you don't mind my asking, where did you find yours, I've been searching and unable to find a trace of either the 185 or 195.

I've got the Automatic 100, I converted the battery so I now use three AAAs. I also found that I had to crank it almost all the way to max lighten so I made a one or two stop filter to put over the meter. Everything has been great, I hope Fuji continues making film.

Just recently started and currently I'm using a polaroid back on a Holga but I've also acquired a couple other older Polaroids and a 545 holder so I just need to figure them out. Didn't realize the future of Fuji instant was in question, suppose it shouldn't be a surprise.
 
I have an 800 that I've been meaning to convert for something... never gotten around to it.

At the least it will make a good prop.
 
Yes, I've got a 110A Pathfinder converted to packfilm, great camera but I wish it would go to 4x5. I've been thinking of getting a Razzle lately, it just takes money 😉

Not sure if yall have tried this but the Fuji 300B "negative" side can be scanned and tweaked in PS with good results...

I have a 110-B converted to pack film but cracked the 405 holder on it. I need to replace that. The Rodenstock lens is fantastic!

If anybody would be interested in owning this camera PM me. The rangefinder has been adjusted to work with pack film.

I just ordered a refurbished 110a converted to accept modern pack film from a fellow in Texas. He also takes the rangefinder from a 100b and puts on the refubed camera. Now the hard part, waiting for it to arrive.......
