G2 exposure meter question

Hi all,

i lost the manual for my G2 and can't figure out what the blinking shutter speed display means. When half pressing the top shutter release button (AE mode), the shutter speed number in the viewfinder starts blinking. In fact it always blinks, whether the camera is in AE or AEL; or if I use the button on the back of the camera to activate focus and metering.

I'm not sure if this is normal. Any idea?

My G2 blinks the shutter speed when that speed is locked. Custom function 1 will set the shutter speed dial to lock when pressed halfway or not to. Custom function 1-0 = switch for AE Lock, 1-1=Shutter button control of AE Lock.

To set- hold the ISO button and the focus lock button (on the back) for 2 seconds. Turn the focus dial to choose the function (1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 displayed on left side of the dash) and then press the focus lock button to switch the number on the right side of the dash.

Same here. The shutter spped blinks when locked. This can sometimes be disturbing… 😉
