Which one? Which one?

Undoubtedly there's plenty of magnificent lenses for RF cameras, I'm excited to be passed on the other side of the river (there's a plenty for SRL camera too, I used with satisfation some Contax planars).
Someone have experiences with Color Skopar 28, 35 and 50? I've read that 28 is a "vintage" effect, like old elmarits, 35 is very sharp full open and 50 is very similar to new summilux, great colors creator: 28 and 50 seems to share a warm and doughy rendition.
Can they perhaps be the lenses that I look for?

yes, it is quite hard to find but it is still possible. if u like the "old" look, u should consider this lens.

it was taken in B&W and converted into sepia using Nikon View 6

Akiva, I am becoming crazy, because there are too many great lenses I wish, now I think, time after time, to have all of them!!!

...and too many places to see...
 
OK, I think I've my choise now...

First, travel combo will be CV Color Skopar 28/3.5 and 50/2.5, after this I think to be right with CV Ultron 28/2 and Heliar 50/2 (or, if possible, Summicron 50/2 3rd or 4th version).

And, for some Saul Leiter style images, cross processing on Photoshop and I will go on...

28/3.5 & 28/2 seems good combo. one for light-weight and one for low-light
but 50/2.5 & 50/2 do not seem to be good. Think again on "one for light-weight and one for low-light"
but...it is your choice!
 
I don't feel the 28mm 1.9 is all that big. When hood is removed, it is a bit longer but it is just perfect on the RD1 in terms of general body lens combination (balance is great), it has an amazing dynamic range.
So really, use your money on another focal instead of duplicating the same one. In the 50mm, I would go for the Nokton 1.5 or J-3 to for low light. Nokton is big, J-3 is very small and is a great tool for portrait. Only problem is that it is difficult to get a good sample.
 
Thanks, Vanidel, really it's right what you're saying... my choise of 28 and 50 is from my story, now I have a Contax 139 with Zeiss 50 and 80 only, and a compact leica with an enormous zoom range, but, normally, 50 and 75 to 90 is the focals I use. And my "new" R-D1, of course... 😉. So, my really interest is to have the best compact / low-light usefully / high-quality / best colors and pasty images combo I can... not easy this choise, lot of (very appreciates, my friends 🙂) suggestions in these pages, many and many wonderful lenses (not only in this focal range) to choise... the really issue is to cannot have a trip with EVERY of these lenses, it would be a great thing to be able to try every single lens of which people has spoken to this thread!
I've read something of J-3, if I don't misunderstand it's a very well made Sonnar copy, don't you think that j-8 coul be better for me?

Please, another question for everyone, I'm curios... wich is the exactly focal lengt I obtain if I put a pinhole body cap on my R-D1?
 
Actually I think the J-3 and J-8 are more then copies, they are exactly the same as the pre-war Zeiss. If I recall correctly, when USSR took over East Germany, they brought back the technology to produce Jupiter's. When you put side by side the Nokton and J-3, the difference in size is amazing. The Nokton has a more modern look while the J-3 is softer and wide open give a very dreamy look. I was suggesting this one as it is small and fast and cost €80-100 on Ebay. So it would avoid you to duplicate lens in the 50mm's. I don't own the Jupiter 8 but read good things about it, I think it is also a bit cheaper, in the €40-€50 range on Ebay. Quality seem to be more constant but you lose the 1.5 wide open look of the J-3 which is basically the only one I use on this lens.
Color wise you will be anyway very dependent on the white balance interpretation of the RD1 so post processing is a must that is why this is usually not my first concern in buying a lens. Dynamic range is important for B&W and there is a huge difference for example between the 28mm Ultron and 35mm Skopar on the RD1. I believe the 28mm 3.5 has a similar draw to the 35mm Skopar which on sunny days is just too constrasty IMO.
