I have had results like this seldomtimes, but in the last shoot I encountered more of these than usual.

this is an example.
Its ISO 640 to boot.

thanks.
this m8 has started sporadically banding as well, even though this issue has been repaired once already. this is no fun, my other m8 is already in repair.

boo!

I know some people would kill for wild results like this.
Sadly i'm not one of them.
Best of luck with the repair. I can understand how dissapointing all of this must be.

ok i hope you don't mind, but I've shown this image to a few electrical engineering friends of mine and they are fairly certain based on those images that this is caused by an electronic interference of some kind.
I later found this article

this seems to promote the concept of RF interference, especially since the photo linked above is soooo similar to yours in terms of corruption. Plus it seems like there was alot of electrical devices around when you were shooting.

so this is leica's responce to my dealer.

"This is something with the CCD and it will need to come to our Service Dept"

blah.

Wow. If Jimmy Hendrix were alive, he'd put the interference effect to good use. I wonder what would have happened if he had sent back his guitar to get fixed?

I'd be fuming, though, as you. Unless...of course...your client likes the results?
