I bought a Zorki S a few months ago, but never had a successful roll with it. Then someone told me I could take the lens off and mount it on any Leica LTM/M compatible camera. So I gave it a try last week.
After I saw the results, I was a bit surprised. It was sharper than I'd expect from an old lens. The color rendition matched my impression from a Russian lens though. Not an amazing lens, but could be useful when I want the "old-timer" flavor.
(Yet I wonder if I should get myself a Jupiter lens....)
Here are the photos.
[Glow of Old]
I set the exposure to +0.7, so that the picture would look like the real world situation, while the sunlight was very strong.
[Old Lens for Old Dog]
[Vintage? A Bit I Think.]
[Another EV+0.7 Shot]
[Not Bad for B/W]
[Not Sharp, but Not Bad for This Shot]
[50mm Becomes A Portait Lens]
[Another B/W Shot]
[Funny Vintage Shot]
I said it's funny because it really looks like a shot I saw when I was a child.
------
It's small. It's light. It's collapsible. And it's darn cheap. Could be useful sometimes.

Looks like you're getting some nice results. There's a certain richness to the tonality in the dog shot. Or maybe that's just the dog. Pooh, on the other hand, is looking a little washed out
I have a some older LTM 50's, like a Summitar and a Jupiter-8, for that potential "old-lens" effect. However, I find myself not using them much mostly because of awkward handling and because I tend not to use a 50 very much on the RD1. And when I do the Summilux is awfully nice.

PS I just stuck the Summitar on the RD1 to play around with it. It *is* nice and compact....

I'm getting various results from the I-22. I think I'll play with it more to know it better.

Wow! I guess I'll have to practice more.... Great shot Krosya!
I have to take the infinity lock part off the I-22, or it will be blocked by the LTM to M adaptor while turning to infinity.
No backfocus problem @ wide open here.

You cut off with Dreimel?

No I just unscrewed the part off the lens. What's a "Dreimei" and a "cheap Chinese adaptor"?You cut off with Dreimel?I thought why not cut some bit of a cheap chinese adapter and see how it works out. Might interfere with framelines coupling?

Mine does not focus accurately at < 2m (can't remember if it's front or back focusing). Works fine on infinity on the Zorki 4K, but with M/LTM adapters (even the ones with cutout) it doesn't go the last mm to infinity lock (neither did an I-50 collapsible I had) but still took great photos at infinity and beyond...

good to know it can be unscrewed though I tried it hard. Seems tough.
dreimel you can cut anything else. Look through google. There are some cheap chinese LTM-M adapters in Ebay

The tool is called Dremel.
And yes - you can remove infinity lock by unscrewing it. I just did that with the infinity lock on my Canon 50/1.4 lens. I put the parts away so that i can put it back if I ever want to sell the lens.
I've seen some lenses with part of the inf.lock filed off.
Please don't do that.

I think I need that tab! Good for zone focus
I believe that I modify the adapter instead.
