This could be just a label of some company in the city of Halle in Germany.
There are three street names listed, with one of them being "Adolf Hitler Ring".

No way a German street was called after him post-war.This could be just a label of some company in the city of Halle in Germany.

At least I hope so, that could be creepy

Yes, I'm aware of that (thanks for the info, though). Halle is just northwest of Leipzig.....I'm sure that the street isn't named that today!

Halle was liberated by the Americans, but since the Russians had liberated most of Sachsen Anhalt Halle became part of DDR. My father participated in one of the air raids against Leuna Werke in 44', not far away. They bombed Halle instead, by mistake. - **** happens.
Only one of the street adresses seems to exist today; Händelstrasse.

Wow, imagine screwing a name plate into a brand new Leica these days. I don't even like plate frame holders on new cars that advertise the dealership.

Despite the somewhat awkward address of the Leica dealer (and the fact that he thought it good advertisement to screw this in an expensive piece of equipment), that's a very good looking IIIa, as seen from the back. Is the front just as nice-looking?

snap!
yeah definately an address of the retailer/distributer no doubt.
this one is on a Welta Garant 120 roll film camera 6x9 (1939)

It is the same label. What a coincidence that two people here have the same label on different cameras.

I should be getting it tomorrow in the mail, so I can post more photos of it then.

6x9 and be there!

The Garant is a very nice camera, Andrew, and just as compact as a Leica IIIa...
Cheers!

Watch that step!
Reminds me of the vintage Volkswagen Dealer badges of the late 1940`s to the early 1960`s......which I saw on so many cars over in Germany when I was stationed there in the Army
Camera dealer badges could conduct a whole new direction of collecting as well

yeah it exactly the same lable hey. i havn't seen it on another camera untill now. i was surprised when i saw Vince's ...by rules of the card game 'snap' as we call it here (you may have different names for it...each person turns over their half of the deck 1 card at a time and when identicle cards show ,one calls 'snap' and wins what the other person has.
so by the rules of 'snap' i win Vince's Leica IIIa. sad for Vince but rules are rules
It's already on its way to you.....

Here are a few more photos. Just got the camera today, and it's really clean, with the exception of a few marks on the baseplate and a bit of brassing on the strap lugs. The slow speeds need adjusting, and the 'T' doesn't work. (Chippy - I'll want to get that stuff fixed before I send it off to you. Don't want to you to be using it like this!)

Some German dealers attached a shop decal to the inside of the camera rather than an external plate.
I have a IIIc with a decal on the inside of the baseplate from a shop in Dortmund.
