I've been very surprised at the performance of this little inexpensive lens. All are at f1.8 except the last two which are f2.8.
This was also my first time using Diafine, which was a PITA to mix but much easier to use than HC110! The film is Arista Premium 400.

I used a Serenar 50/1.8 for seventeen years and was happy with it.

1,4 and 6 - all good. Great light and good exposure control.

I do not think that the Canon 50mm/f1.8 is overlooked at all by the forum members.
it is a fine lens loved by many.

I love it. Bought a CV 50/1.5 and thought I would like it better, but found I really prefer the Serenar.
I love infinity locks, too.

nice photos, but why does it seem that lately people are uploading huge files. I hate scrolling around my screen to see your images.

just got one a couple of weeks ago and i've been impressed... much more affordable than a 50 summicron rigid and to my eye just as good for my purposes...

I prefer the larger images just because it shows more detail. Is there an RFF rule or custom about posting smaller images I should know about?

Wow, some great examples of this lens in action. I'm very happy with mine. It was included with a Canon VT I bought recently. Mine had some oil on an inside element, but it wasn't too difficult to clean. It's my fastest rangefinder 50mm, so I'm looking forward to using it to best advantage in low-light situations.

That's a beautiful scene colyn. What developer did you use for the HP5?
Here are some more from my recent trip to Wisconsin.

Even Kodak is recommending Diafine these days. It is VERY forgiving, and fairly easy to live with. Pretty hard to mess up.

Chris, Colyn, bcostin, monochromejml -- Very nice images! I think we should stop saying this lens is underappreciated....
