Hi - I have recently started shooting film again, using Konica TC 35mm, Olympus RC and Konica S3. When I first got the S3, a couple of months ago, I had to have the meter fixed and seals redone. I ran a colour film through it and thought it came out quite nice. I took it with me to India, along with my digital camera, and shot 2 films, agfa 400 and ilford hp5 400. But when I got the films back from developing, I noticed what seems to be a light leak. A bright streak across most of the photos, usually to the left side of the picture, but sometimes down the middle (as seen below).

The light in India was pretty strong but not sunny (cloud cover most of the time) but I felt the photos were a bit washed out, and of course, ruined by the streak of light.

Do you think the this is a case of bad seals? I'll have to take it back into Cameratiks in Edinburgh for some further work...

Thanks

No, I never saw that doc. Thanks for the link. I just put my faith in the repair shop and the first film came out quite well. The stuck shutter blade is a possibility, right, given that the band shifts around the frame. Not that I have any experience of such things :) I just know that these little rangefinders are great fun to shoot!

Follow the re-seal instructions accurately, then check for the same problem. If not fixed, it's the blades. BTW--Jon Goodman (jon_goodman at yahoo.com) sells the foam kit for re-seals.
