Is the Voigtlander M mount different?

I have the case now where an M mount lens (Canon 50/0.95) can mount happily on my Leica M7 and M8 bodies, but not on my Voigtlander R3A, R4A or Epson R-1Ds bodies. Is there a subtle difference in the M mounts between Leica and Voigtlander? Anyone had this and solved it?

I've seen them used on an R3M, so it might be the particular lens. All of these lenses were one-off conversions and different people handle the conversion different ways. Some conversions are better than others.

The mount is the same. The throat of the camera is not, however, which is usually what makes the difference.

I'm not sure about lenses, but I have found a big difference in how tight Leica LTM-M adapters and Voigtlander LTM-M adapters mount on my Bessa-T.

The Voigtlander adapters, mount normal. But the Leica adapters mount quite a bit more difficult, they press much harder against the spring-blades in the camera's mount..

So there could be a slight difference in how thick the flanges of the lenses are expected to be between Leica and Voigtlander, even if they will both focus equally accurate as the lens to film distance is still the same..
