general strike means that every worker is invited to go on strike, a usaul strike would only concerne people from the bus or subway company for exemple, nothing comparable with the Commune wich was a kind of civil war in paris, while paris was surrounded by prussian troops. The Commune happened because the french governement reconnised defeat wich could have caused a huge economical crisis for people in paris. It is told (but I am not an historian) to be the beginning of communism 😉


The strike was decided to protest against the crisis, and beacuse the bank were given money by the french governement but are not really keen on lending money to people 🙂

That's what happened in the USA. Banks given money, none went to ordinary people. We need a general strike here, for the whole country, to last until government is removed from the hands of the business corporations and begins working for the people, all of them, not just the ultra-wealthy.

Gee, hear the Banks get big bucks, give out BIG yearly bonuses to upper management (not sure about others) and our president called them on the carpet, but no General Strike.

Perhaps we could learn something from our friends on the other side of the pond.

I have to call my friends at LaSer to get their view of what is up!
