E6 chemical question.

Having luck with C-41 processing, I was thinking about moving on to E6. So here is my question: If I bought a 1 gallon kit and just mixed the chemicals as I needed them, would the undilluted chemicals last long - or is it just better getting the smaller kits?

If you can evacuate the air from the containers, I imagine the concentrates would last. I always just used the smaller kits though, unless I had a lot of film coming through.

For our school's club we have bought 5 liters of Tetenal chemistry, which lasted about a year or so. It is important to get the extra air out of the containers though.

Some people put marbles or large plastic beads in the containers to fill them up and evacuate the air. I've never tried this myself, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Use wine saver gas (argon) to fill the bottles. It's inert and will keep oxidation from occuring.
