You have to be a keen collector and have so much money that $12,000 isn't a lot. I just think about all the real camera gear you could get for $12,000.

Considering the condition of the camera, and the current economy, possibly a good deal for both parties at $4750. The camera certainly doesn't have many secrets, with the wealth of photos made available.
Seems like a very straightforward transaction, by a commited and realistic seller. And, no, I don't have any knowledge beyond reading the auction page.
I'd love one in almost any condition, but retired with medical bills doesn't make me a willing bidder....
