MLK photos never published by LIFE shown

As I was born in 1966 the significance and impact of the civil rights movement (and Vietnam War for that matter) were lost in my childhood. Suffice it to say that the public school system didn't have a good grip on these topics when I was young in the 1970s and later in the early 1980s.

I got a chance to tag along with my wife on one of her business trips to Atlanta some years ago. While she was attending and teaching at a conference I got to run around the town and experience a lot of what Atlanta offers. I spent almost a full day at the MLK National Historical site and museum. The presentation there is very powerful, and educational, leaning strongly on both oral histories from the period of the civil rights movement and more so on photographs.

This short presentation would fit in very well with the story told in Atlanta.
