In Jesus' Name (photo essay)

Some interesting work. I'm travelling now, but plan on looking at individual shots more closely. Thanks for sharing.

You have some really, really nice images
and I like the subject matter also. Amazing
work while limiting your amount of gear.

This is just excellent. Others should look just to how how compelling an essay is compared to a singular image. I also like how the individual images only remained on the screen for a short period to time forcing you to become riveted.

I sense that you really captured the entire celebration. It left me satisfied without feeling that I had been fed too many images.

Very good essay work. Just goes to prove that less is more when it comes to gear too. Nice flow and some rather haunting images.
Thanks for putting it up here,
Tom

Interesting stuff.
Two observations:
Often the difference between a novice and an photographic artist is that a novice thinks in individual images while a more competent photographer thinks in terms of a series/project.
Straps are less invasive than nails.

Excellent photo essay. Absolutely wonderful.

I love the look of the lenses/film you used. Very reminiscent of 70's photojournalism.

The series is very interesting and I agree with what has been said already, as a series it tells a story.

I also like that you used only BW and kept it to one lens only.

thank for appreciation guys, I usually bring one lens one camera when I am shooting on streets, and when Im on assignment I carry extra camera body.

a friend of mine used to be a fixer for Mary Ellen Mark. I got this idea from is stories while he guide Mary around and assist.

heres how we/she do it.

load all your camera bodies with the same film/speed. Mary has four or more camera bodies in her backpack, I only have two.

put same lenses on it.

when you finished a roll don't rewind, just grab another camera and keep shooting.

you can do the rewind later when you have a idle time.

again, thanks for viewing the slide show guys.

Great essay, Buck. I like the ones with the MB passing the line of people with crosses. Really shows the contrast. Even with the commercialism, it looks like the event remains Holy.

Buck, some very strong images. I think it proves that less can be more in terms of equipment. You focus on what you see rather than what's in your hand.
