Heard there is a collectors' show at Skokie Holiday Inn Sunday.
Rumor is there will be some Nikon RF, and the usual suspects.

How is the show for 'user' items? It's a bit of a drive for me to get there, and while I enjoy drooling over cameras I can't possibly afford, I am really in the market for 'user' glass.

I know Igor will have a variety of equipment, I got the impression there would be a spread. I know he has one 50mm Canon which he has not listed yet, do not know if he is bringing it.
I may cross paths with him today, local shop has the big guys in to demo.

Hi John, do you know what logistics are involved with selling and/or trading lenses at this show? I'd like to unload a few items (a Kodak Ektar 47/2 military version for a Kardon RF, for one), but am unsure how to go about it. Any help would be much appreciated! Ideally, i'd be looking to swap for some Nikon F-related items..
For those car-free folks within the city of Chicago that are interested in going to this show, it looks like you can connect to the Touhy #290 Pace bus at the Blue Line Cumberland stop. Alternatively, you can take the Western 49B bus to Touhy, and transfer to the same Pace bus linked above. My hat's off to whomever booked this event at a place that's infinitely easier to get to (compared to last year)!

I just heard it is a very good show with a good variety of vendors. DAG, and Mr. Kim -- excellent repair guys, and Igor. Igor has two Canon 50mm 1.2, one is a project, the other a very good one.
I would like to meet Don Goldberg and Mr. Kim, they have intimate knowledge of a number of my cameras and lenses. ;-)
Annual show in Cleveland in the fall by the local club.

I would show this to Igor, he is encyclopedic in knowledge in Cameras, watches, and binoculars, and Russian tea. He also trades in a huge variety of items, including lots of LF. Use my name freely, and when he stops laughing, tell him you are Tom A.'s cousin.
I was assuming you were not asking about getting a table? Any show I have attended there is open selling between everyone there.
Love to hear about it post show.
I should drive up, dad was a cab driver there in the 1920's, but I think it is safe to come back. ;-)

If he cannot help you, he should know someone who can.

Thanks or the info, John! I'll look up Igor upon arrival, but Tom has strictly forbidden me from dropping his name.
You should definitely make the trip - if the RFF folk can identify each other, maybe we can all grab a late lunch in the city..

Igor squirrels away cartridges for Tom as I understand. ;-) So it may be a three cartridge favor or some such.
We met up at Dodd's today, and Igor has no more room in the car, so I took the hint. ;-)
Bit of last minute, Igor seems to think this is one of the better shows. He is dropping off a camera for repair.
Really appreciate the offer though.
Will let you know if the urge overcomes the resistance due to today's purchases.
Have seen more than one table with just a few items, but normally a big sign - "We buy" above. ;-)

It was a great show
It was a great show
I've only been to about 5 or 6 shows over the past few years, and I thought this one was the best. I don't know who else made it there from RFF, but the gal selling tickets said that I was the first RFF member to get there today. Seems I should get some kind of club hat or something like that, don't ya think?
Anyway, I had a great time wheelin' and dealin' today. And to Don (DAG) and Paul: I was great to meet you guys!
Anyway, I sold the first Leica I ever had, the M6 TTL with 0.58x VF. I just never used it. Even though I originally bought it because I wear eyeglasses and was shooting a 35/f2 Summicron a lot, I find that the 0.72x in my MP works just fine with the 35mm. And it also turns out that 50mm has become my favorite lens once again.
So, I picked up a pretty clean SS M3 , which will probably be the last M I ever buy.
I've just wanted an M3 for a long time, and the price was fair. Now I just need to find a nice chrome 50mm, since all my M 50s are black.
I also picked up the following "extras":
- Brand new Leica front lens cap (for my 50/2.8 Elmar-M)
- Leica 35-135 Imarect / VIOOH (for my IIIf RD)
- a "like new" first English-language edition of Gunter Osterloh's "Leica M: The advanced school of photography"
- Canon Model IV rangefinder with 50/f1.8 Serenar lens (This camera has a great built-in adjustable 1.5x VF magnifier).
Anyway, thank to all the people who organised this show, and all the vendors that made my eyes drool!
Here's a couple pics of my new M3 baby. I'm going to run a roll of Arista Premium 400 through it tomorrow to check things out.

Great stuff, I heard this was going to be a very good show. I also heard from Igor who called on the drive back that several RFF'ers showed up to talk and swap some lenses. That black Elmar is a good looking lens, and the M3 looks clean as well, but you may have missed a spot with the chrome polish ;-).
I probably should have driven up, and your description properly "rubs" it in. ;-) Steve will have to see about the "secret" handshake, and a T Shirt?
Anyone take out a 12mm VC and shoot some photos?
Regards, John

Very nice offer, and nice looking site. Igor said it was a very good show, with one member from Cleveland saying hi, and several other RFF'ers saying hello. I will pay attention and try to make one of the shows. He did say he was rather busy and not able to socialize as much as he would have liked.
