Make any difference if you keep the shutter wound or relaxed when you are not using it? Are any springs needlessly stretched when not in use?

I think, in general, its always better to leave any camera or lens uncocked.

Leica will tell you it does not matter. The springs are engineered to take the slight tension increase.
It has been written wound is better as the take up drum is larger causing less stressto the shutter cloth over time.
It is probably a toss up as neither is perfect. I have always gone for uncocked and have never had a problem.

As I understand it, the springs are always under some amount of tension, so it doesn't matter one way or another.
