Just got this wonderful camera from Japan (approx 200,000 yen, with shipping).

Some Leica fans might not be happy about it, the shutter of GF670 is probably the quietest one in the world.

These images look good......

I collected my GF670 almost two weeks ago in Japan but I was on my way to join a ship. I have another two weeks before I can see the results.

I have high hopes for this camera....

and the shutter is so quiet that with the background noise here nobody hears the shutter firing.

How are they selling? I'm going to be in Japan in December (perilously close to Bic Camera) if there are any left I'm pretty sure one will end up in my suitcase...

I pre-ordered it from an Japanese online shop two months ago.
It seems to me that they don't have stock, as my other friend order it AFTER Fuji release the camera, and up to now, no news from the shop.

Another sample, taken from the other day, little chop to 1:2 scale, same film/development.

Jack,

Thanks for posting these, while it is hard to judge a lens from a small internet file, the photographs and your comments are welcomed by me. Your photographs definitely are doing a good job of promoting this camera.

I am looking forward to seeing and using this camera.

Definitely looks like a modern lens, with nice bokeh.

Thank you for the samples, keep them coming. Maybe celebrate the new camera with a roll or two of the brand new Ektar 100 in 120 format ;)

hahah ... I only scan one or two fram everyday .... just too lazy to setup the scanner/ANR glass, and do the final touchup ...

Harry from this thread....

My decision to buy the GF670 (ordered in Feb) is based purely on my experience using my 1950's folders. I love folding cameras, (why, I don't know) and the added attraction of shooting in 6x7 for a change. The camera is quite large and feels a lot bigger than my Agfa Super Isolette but feels a lot lighter. It's very comfortable to shoot with, nice grippy rubber on the body and a big bright VF that I can see the shutter speeds in while wearing glasses. The camera feels to me like using a BIG 'M' body. Shutter isn't just quiet, its extremely quiet!

I did buy the case and lens hood for it and these are not cheap... the hood is plastic and cost about $100. I do feel the camera is priced on the high side but..... I just plain wanted one.

Image quality... This is where I'm stuck. I'd love to show you some of my boring pictures but I collected the camera from Dirk on my way to join a ship in Japan. I'm still stuck on that ship and will be for another 2 agonizing weeks before I can get home and develop the film. There has been some images posted here by somebody else on this forum and I doubt Fuji would produce a 'bum' camera so I'm expecting image quality to be good unless there is something wrong with this particular camera.
A friend here did show me a review in a Japanese magazine and he said the review was good and that the reviewers said the image quality was good. I don't have the magazine though to scan and mail to you.

Ignore my moaning in the thread!
