Will the R3a and R2a etc, have a long enough baselength RF to correctly focus the new C-V 1.1 lens??

According to Puts (this is something I would trust him on), a 50/1 needs a 25mm RF EBL to focus accurately. I have to say I was shocked at the number being so low. From the cameraquest site it lists the EBL on the R3x as 37 and the R2x as 25.6mm. Seems the master is in good shape with much of his current stable of cameras, well done Pres K.

It is a myth that fast 50s are harder to focus than other typical RF lenses. For instance, the Noctilux wide open and close up has the same DOF as a 75/2.5 lens (like the Heliar).
So yes, both R2 and R3 will work fine with the 50/1.1.

Cheers,
Roland.
