Check it out with the new CV heliar 15mm and the 35mm 1.2 nokton/50mm f1.1 nokton. So sexy. I'll be seriously considering that 15mm heliar as a little lightweight high quality package. and the 35mm nokton as the portrait prime.

Manual focus is supposed to be very easy with the auto magnified view on the E-p1 screen - should be good.

could be wrong with auto mag but there definitely is a way to easily focus assist - too busy right now with work and other stuff to find it out but there are reports from 15mm heliars etc out there where they say it's simple.

I get the feeling you're a pessimist :angel:
 
I don't believe there is auto magnification, but you push a buttun a couple times and you are there. One more push to return to normal mag and shoot.
 
On the E-P1 you press the 'Info' button until the green focus square comes up, and then press OK to magnify that area. OK again to return to normal.

I'm holding off ordering my M adaptor until I've seen an actual example of someone using one!

That is the same process as on the Panny G1 I believe. There is an auto magnification function, but it only works when you are manually focusing the AF lenses.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, on the G1 its only automatic with the AF lenses--you set it to manual focus and then you can simply rotate the focus ring and it immediately magnifies an area--which you can move around in. With MF lenses, you click on the left side of the 4 way button, then okay to magnify for MF Its quick and easy. someone on another forum suggested doing the click/OK as you lifted the camera to your eye and its ready for MF. I use 4 FDs and a Konica regularly.

That's hilarious seeing the cv 35/1.2 on the e-p1. It shows you how small the body really is. And the 15 is tiny, but ends up looking like say a normal 50mm on an fe2 or something like that.
 
I really like the EP-1 with the Olympus 17mm lens and viewfinder. Not interested in manually focusing after pushing a couple of buttons and doing the Irish jig.

But the EP-1 is a very slick camera.
