My current set :D

M4-P + Summarit-M35/2.5

The Summarit-M35 looks like Summaron M35/2.8. I really like it.

Can anyone recommend a good quality but cheap (don't care if it's machine manufactured) leather case for my M6?

I have a Zhou case on my M2 with finger and thumb grips, looks good and works well, I paid $36 for it used on Ebay, but they go for around $80 new. I have had a Luigi before and they are very nice, but the Zhou case does the job...

The Mp with the 35/1.4 pre-A is an a-la-carte MP ? Just wondering about the missing engravings on the top-plate and the M4-style rewind crank.

It is the first time seeing a 135/4 Tele-Elmar. How about that lens ? Good for portraits or better for distance photos ?

Back from this mornings shoot with the MP3 & 50/1.4 pre-ASPH, MP & 35/1.4 pre-ASPH and MP & 135/4 Tele-Elmar.

My M3 with recently aquired 1958 Elmar 90/4 in M mount. Man, I just LOVE those 15-bladed apertures of the old Elmars! Anyone know why Leica ever stopped that?

Now I just need a shade for my 50/2.8 Elmar to complete the M3 kit. :D

Hi Matt, Thank you for the compliment! Sadly to say, the timer will not work with the grip! :(

Gary, I have a grip on my MP and was thinking about getting one for my M3. When I realized the self-timer wouldn't work, I decided not to. But now I'm considering it again, since it really makes the camera much easier to work with.

Hi MarkE,
Yes, I was in the same debate as you were.:bang: It does make a huge difference on the handling of the camera. I think it is more more beneficial on having the grip than not......especially, the usage of timer is very minimal for me!:D

Here's my combo, a 1961 M3 with a rigid Summicron, I just got the other day and already love, a M6 classic with 35 Summicron and a MDa with 21 Elmarit.

cheers from sunny Norway

M2 w VC 35/2.5

M2 w VC 35/2.5

$600 >One Million M2 user with a $319 new VC 35mm f/2.5 Skopar, mini-release, generic hood, 52mm Lumix lenscap, Domke Gripper strap, Pro Pack of TXP in the truck.

I miss the M6 but the M2 is smoother and the VF/RF is actually easier to focus. The VC lens seems almost identical optical quality to the V.3 Summicron I used to have except the helical is actually nicer than the Leica lens (which probably needed service.)

You guys have far too much nice gear. Where's all the beater grade stuff, ratty M2's, delaminated M3's and fauxtojournalists M4's, lenses with cable-ties for tabs, and milk bottle lid lens caps?

Get your acts together, *sheesh*.
