Fuji Discontinuing Pro 800Z

Hmm...let's hold our horses here a sec...

The film I'm palpitating about at the moment is Fuji Press 800, specifically 35mm. I notice that they're talking about Pro 800Z (a designation that, oddly enough, has only been around a relatively short time). I also noticed that the site in question appeared to source the Fujifilm UK site. Nothing regarding film in the States. Time to make a few phone calls...

I still see Portra 800 on the Kodak website. Seems to still be available.

Also, for fast color how viable is pushing color negative than color slide? 400 c-41 to 400 e-6?

C-41, not great. But some E-6 films push very well. Provia 400F, is gorgeous, and I have pushed it well into the 3200 range with good results.

Damn...gotta watch those little Internets, folks; they get into everything these days. 🙄

Here's the poop straight from Fujifilm USA: at this time, there are no announcements regarding the discontinuation of any Professional films currently in the catalog. Fuji has killed off their ISO 100 Single-use cameras, but that's it. (Hell, I didn't know anyone made single-use cameras with film that slow anymore...)

So...if you're on this side of the Pond, there's no need to panic. For those of you in Blighty, we might want to buy you guys a round...

(And, at any rate, the Fuji Press film line is safe, as well. Whew...)

By streamlining our selection of Professional film we can ensure our strong selling lines are protected.”

Ok, I´ll believe em this time.

This is sad, but to be honest, I was never able to put it into good use though I've seen some really great stuff taken with it. What really sucks (if Fujifilm USA discontinues also) is there's no more 800 or higher speed Fuji films in 120 now (that I'm aware of).

As per my previous post: According to Fujifilm USA, Fuji Pro 800Z is available in the United States. There are no announcements regarding its being discontinued.
