Online transaction gone bad, suggestions?

OK, sorry, I forgot. Everybody on the internet always uses a consistent user name, for which there is and always will be a 1:1 correspondence with their "In Real Life" identity - assuming they are not, as in this case, somewhat dead.

Oscar's info is obviously up to date, if not helpful, in that respect i'm not sure why people have a problem with him, seems pretty helpful...except of course for the insulting tones! ;) although sometimes (in other threads) he is awfully funny (less humour more insults in this thread though)

but what i really want to know; is how (Fred, others?) some people instantly know when he is posting under a new user name? and for that matter why do you 'Oscar' now post under yet a another different name...what was wrong with the old user name(s), why bother changing all the time?

Probably this has to do with the fact that not everyone blocks the same members. Thus, if you haven't been reading someone's posts you wont recognize him when he posts under a new name.

I don't see your apology for giving the OP outdated, inaccurate information.

Now the fat-headed adolescent is begging for undeserved apologies!

I skimmed the posted links and the changes he's so adamant about haven't been implemented. Basically the troll has been throwing a feigned fit.

I even called this "hard-to-find" toll-free number and an operator confirmed that the process is still the same - disputes from paypal purchases are still handled over the paypal website. Purchases without paypal have no buyer protection and the ebay agent confirmed this.

Therefore, if the OP goes to the resolution center on ebay.com, he will be redirected to paypal, because he paid by paypal.

I tested this yesterday and this is how the software currently works.

Finally, as a general rule, item disputes should NOT be handled by telephone - written correspondence is always the better way to go.

Happy buying to all (execpt the trolling jerk!)

Was it Johnny Cash that sang "You gotta know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em and know when to get up and walk away..."?

I clicked on this thread and enjoyed it all_the_way because of the big O and his procedural expertise on eB*y and PayPal conflict resolution.

O, thanks for coming back and sharing!

I don't have a problem with him - I like him! Not that I always agree with him - but he is clever, funny, and entertaining.

You are being given wrong information by people who don't know what they are talking about. If you file a PayPal complaint, you will still have to pay return shipping.

There is a NEW eBay complaint procedure. You file an eBay complaint, then they give you an 800 number to call and they refund everything on the spot, and eBay handles the PayPal transaction.

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?InrCreateDispute&DisputeReason=3

Fill out the complaint form AND call. Be factual, don't tell them a long story. You will not reach a genius at eBay.

Say: "The seller described the camera as working perfectly, when I received the camera it was badly damaged and not functional."

That's it. eBay set this new thing up as an extended test to better handle customer complaints because their stock price is in the toilet.

I clicked on the link above but I did not see a phone number, just the usual form which goes to paypal's resolution center. Has something changed?
