How do you frame and focus? Don't tell me on the LCD, please....
 
Do length and girth comparisons count as camera porn? In the "micro" 4/3 world, small is beautiful.

First: G1 with 14-45mm kit lens at 45mm (and f5.6). Ok for a travel zoom. But surely there's something better for the portrait length...

I don't really see composing and focusing on an LCD any differently to focusing and composing on a ground glass screen. Whether a 5x4 field camera or m4/3 it is the same one to one interaction. Each with an direct and exact 100% view of the world with no vaguely approximate viewfinder induced guesses or crops. If you have never used a view camera you may not 'get it', but its worth a try.

Steve: while some may be entirely comfortable with LCD composition on a small camera, you really can't compare shooting via ground glass on a 4x5 to handheld camera work. Last time I looked, shooting handheld LF meant using an auxiliary rangefinder or wire/sports finder.
 
What's the concensus guys on using M mount lenses on the camera via the adaptor. I've heard there maybe some compromises with image quality viz z viz the dedicated Oly. lenses. I'm really quite keen on getting this little camera in what would be my first venture into the digital realm but am waiting to the dust settles so to speak.
 
The Rolleiflex has a waist level finder. The image on the finder is the view through a viewing lens that matches the view of the taking lens, unless we're talking about a Rolleiflex SLR such as the SL66, SLX, etc.
 
Tim, The wrap is great quality, even though it doesn't wrap a large portion of the camera, it feels grippier. now I really like their recommended choice with the smaller pattern as it matches the E-P1. The alignment was really good as well. So far it seems like it will stay.

By the way, not sure if it's a concern but normal use of the camera I'm already noticing some rub marks (finish wearing off in certain parts)... It's not terribly big but it's there...

I'm assuming this is from normal handling since I didn't rub it on anything... not sure if there's anyway to actually prevent that unless you just keep it in the bag all the time 🙁

we are not all against it. i happen to be a convert and have produced good work with an lcd in front of my face al la' tourist.

i am also quite happy to use the hot shoe finder all day long. either or sort of affair.
