Eastman Plus X 125 pulled down to ISO 25

hi guys, I tried to pull the plus x down to ISO 25 and heres the results:

dev in d76 5 mins.



Im no expert to pushing and pulling speeds, what are the pros and cons on pushing and pulling?

It is a beautiful portrait and photo. 🙂 I think with pulling you get better shadow details and a lower contrast curve but not really sure about it ....

Eastman Plus-X 5231 is a motion picture film with an ISO of 80 in daylight and 64 in tungsten. Kodak Plus-X is a film designed for still cameras and has an ISO of 125. Which film are we discussing here?

For Plus-X at EI50 developed in Rodinal 1+100 for 10 minutes. Agitation is 10 seconds every minute. For a little bump in contrast I do every 30 seconds.

I find rating PX at EI50 with adjust developing times helps tame contrast. I tend to like lower contrast so this method suits my tastes nicely.


Here's an example of Plus-X rated at EI100 developed in Rodinal 1+100 for 15minutes.

In the shade. A cloud was passing over while the scene was in the shadows of high buildings.


For my tastes the contrast is a bit high in daylight. In subdued light it comes out quite nice. When cloudy (but bright) weather comes around I think I'll use it more.

I used to pull PlusX to 64, and didn't like it (so I don't use it anymore). I guess I didn't pull it enough, I agree with Darren (above), it just wasn't good for me except in cloudy weather.
