Yesterday, I finally got my hands on a Bessa R3a, lovely piece of kit. After coming from a rarely used Leica M3, it was good to finally get out and use a rangefinder, especially one with a built in meter
.
What better place to try it than the local carnival (or show, as they're known over here). All were shot with the R3a, CV Nokton 40/1.4 and Fuji Reala 100.

I bought one with a flakey shutter/film advance a while back for a super price. I stuck a 75mm Heliar on it and was blown away by the results. It's a very easy workflow when you can keep your aperture within shutter speed range (watch for tricky lighting swings). Enjoy it - (try a 75mm on it - it's like a Summicron with a 1.5 crop)
