Oh boy... I am sorry that I dont have a photo to show it to you, but I am really happy because after about 7 hours of hard working on my newly bought Leitz Minolta CL, I have managed to put it to work (meter included). 😀

But my eyes are aching!

I bought it yesterday, shutter/advance jammed. No meter signals, however with some perseverance, time, tools and logic (you've gotta love mechanical cameras) it all seems to work fine now. And there are no extra parts left 😉

On the web you read a lot about failing meters, but from what I have seen, most problems might just be corrosion and/or problems on the switch (internal). That's what mine had...

Already had once a CLE, but I really prefer mechanical devices... this will be my first metered "leica" ever 🙂

Well... it's time to go to sleep, and sorry for post about "nothing" 🙂

Hi!

Unfortunately I took no pictures because I had no digital camera with me... It would be interesting to show what I have done, maybe it could be a typical failure...
I searched a lot on the web, but only found a Japanese web site with pictures of what you have to do to take the top and front cover off. It was a good start but for the rest I had to figure out...

Off to sleep now... 🙂
 
Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday evening to me, Sergio!

Folks, be glad he didn't post a complete pictorial guide. Ebay prices for jammed CLs would immediately get a bump. Just take heart that it can be done, pounce when you see one for cheap, and lock yourself up for seven hours with it.
