I have an M6 TTL with the 0.72 finder and was thinking about having the 90 ,75 and 135 frame lines removed ,leaving me with the 28 ,35 and 50 frame lines ......
The camera is is getting a CLA at the moment ,so if I were to do this now is the time ... I was curious as to your opinions on wether it is something worth doing or will I regret it later ? ... the finder never bothered me before but the idea of having an uncluttered view finder sounds appealing .
I use mostly a 50 and 21 and will probably purchase a 35 in the near future .... also have an M6 Classic 0.85 finder and will more than likely sell one of the two .
Thanks

It may not be so easy to sell a camera body with a finder modified in the way you propose.

they only thing leica can/will do for you is swaping the mask with an "a la carte" mask. but this will cost you about 200$ and leave you with a 35-50-90 mask or with a 28-35-50-90-135 mask.
have a look at their configurator: http://us.leica-camera.com/photography/m_system/leica_a_la_carte/configurator/

As a user, do it. I find the cluttered 0.72 finder a pig and dislike the 50/75 combo on the 0.85. I will likely do the same thing when my bodies go in for a CLA. The MP-3 finder is so clean and uncluttered in comparison

if one goes for the three line MP-3 set, the entire finder on a 0.72 is about smack on for 28mm anyway. 28mm lines are unnecessary IMO. All they do is trace the outside of the finder as you look through straight on.

DAG masked mine on my M6. It wasn't very expensive at all if I recall. I had the 135 and 75 masked so that I have, 28, 35, 50 and 90 now. Perfect!

yeah, i think every repair-dude will do this for you, but NOT leica themselves and as i understood the camera is at leica for a CLA.
leica will only swap the mask to another one (the ones available at the a la carte program).
