I sent off a couple of rolls of film for develop & scan this week (first time shooting slide film) and was less than impressed with the results. The slides themselves look fine, but most of the scans are noisy at best and awful at worst (see attached). I wasnt expecting perfection for £5 (for the scans, per roll) but these...
What do you think?(Two files attached-best and worst cases from the same roll of Velvia 50)

The second one looks exquisitely bad. Definitely take it back and ask that they re-do it.

It looks like their scanner was broken, or waay off from the correct settings. When my older Epson scanner broke, it made marks on the image like that.

Something is majorly wrong in the second one!
I've seen banding before, but that one is awful!
It's very obvious that they did not even check the scans visually.

良かったね!
Terrible. And here I was lamenting the work my shop did on my Pen FV shots. At least there is an excuse with mine.

I spoke to the place, they blamed me for underexposing the slides. While some of the slides are a little dark there's banding on some bright slides too. I think I'll chalk it up to experience (and probably buy a film scanner).
