To me, it looks as if the prim, upright female bicycle on the left is being improperly propositioned by the louche male bicycle on the right. Look at the 'poses'.

The bike is a Pedersen. The owner told me this long, rambling story about how he conned his daughter to buy it for him while she was in Amsterdam on her honeymoon. I can definitely appreciate a person's need to own and use a very specific Machine (when other, more readily available ones would probably suffice for most folks). I imagine I am not alone in that understanding.
