Looking for C41 film in particular. Fuji preferably. Kodak is ok too.

Hope you can give me tips. Will be in Singapore over the weekend.

Thanks a lot RFF!

Check out Triple D Minilab:
175 Bencoolen Street
#01-07 Burglinton Square
Tel: 62244006

It's right next to Sim Lim Square - a shopping haven for electronics and stuff. Be careful to ask for prices from a few shops first though, there have been unpleasant incidents (Sim Lim Square, not Triple D).

The other one would be Ruby Photo:

3 Coleman Street, #01-01 / 01-02, Peninsula Hotel Shopping Complex, Singapore 179804
Ph : 6338 0236 , 6338 4104
Email : enquiry@rubyphoto.com.sg

This one is near City Hall Mrt Station (our version of subway). It's next to Funan Shopping Centre, incidentally, another electronics shop.

Welcome to Singapore! :)

There's obviously a few places around. Near City Hall (see post #2) is Peninsula Plaza. Ground floor has Cathay Photo, which certainly sells Kodak, on the same level is a Fuji film processing lab "Konata". Apart from being a good lab they do sell 120 Fuji film. Across the road is Ruby Photo (see post #2 again) and they are primarily Ilford. I dont usually buy much colour film so I cant go too detailed for you...

Thanks Craig for adding more info! :)

David, rollfilm as in normal 35mm canisters? I know they do c41 processing only, but I'm not sure if they're okay to not cut it. I'm sure if you ask they'll be more than okay to do that. The owner is a real friendly person. OH. No affiliations, just a happy customer. :)

I am going to move to Singapore soon and I shoot a lot of slide, mainly Provia 400X, does anybody knows a good lab that processes E6 (135 and 120) and does also good scans?

What is the average price for processing and scanning in Singapore?

Thanks.
Max

Meven,

Unfortunately, there's only one lab in Singapore that processes E6, and that's fotohub. There have a few outlets dispersed around Singapore but if I'm not wrong, they send all their E6 processing to the outlet located near town.

Again, if I'm not wrong, you can send your slides to Ruby (as mentioned above) but ultimately, they will send your slides to fotohub for it to be processed as well.

Check out their numerous outlets here:
http://www.fotohub.com/fotoWebPorta...al?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=fotoMaster_contactUs

The last I remember, the prices are:

35mm w/o mount $6.50 + scanning $9.90 = $16.40
120mm w/ sleeve $6.50 + scanning $12.90 = $19.40

Hope I helped! :)

fuzk,

Thanks for the reply. I think I have to go through all my rolls while I am in Hong Kong, I did not know it was that expensive in Singapore. I have my E6 negs (35mm or 120mm) processed and scanned for approximately SGD10.00.

I don't understand why scanning is always the most expensive part!!

Meven,

To be honest, I have NO idea why scanning is the most expensive part either. If you are willing to take a risk though, there are people who are willing to scan your negs for your (35 or 120mm) at a much cheaper price. If I remember correctly, about SGD$3 to $5?

Oh. I might have erm.. forgot to mention that the price stated is in SGD, NOT USD.

And before I forget again, welcome to Singapore too! :)

Hi meven

Welcome to Singapore. When are you scheduled to arrive? We must have a walkabout. :)
btw, I am in the process of relocating/moving away from Singapore.

I have been following your photostream on flickr for a while, and you have some great images there.

For E6, I've always sent them to Fotohub, they're quite good, no fuss, no problems thus far.

For processing, as mentioned already some labs such as Konota are quite good, good service and output.

For film purchases, do ask around as prices vary a lot, depending on the film type and shop, for instance, Cathay sells Portra 400VC at 6 dollars a roll while Ruby sells it at 6.90 a roll. Similarly, Ruby sells Provia 100f at 5.80 a roll, while Cathay sells them at 6.50 a roll. So as you can see prices can vary for different film at different shops, sometimes you get a better deal at a shop for a particular film etc. If you need more ideas on prices, i can scout around for you, i live within walking distance of the area:)

Pardon the verbose reply:)
